Engineers make things with minimal cost, and maximum reliability. About

expenditure here can reap substantial benefits to the system as a whole. (For example an
expenditure of $100,000 for improved monitoring and control on a dryer system ended up
saving $500,000 per annum through improved moisture control without any changes to the
actual dryer itself - only the control system was changed.)
